I earned my undergraduate degree in Journalism, with an emphasis in Public Relations, from Mankato State University, then went on to complete the copywriting program at The Creative Circus — one of the most elite portfolio schools in advertising. My work from that career has won local, regional, national, and international awards for both creativity and effectiveness. Married since 1996 to my college sweetheart, mother of our 3 boys. I'd describe myself as a consummate volunteer — the kind of person who shows up for the unglamorous, ongoing work youth programs actually run on, not just the visible parts. I've coached baseball for 17 years, and at the high school level since 2022. I've also been in Scouting America for 16 years, recently receiving a prestigious council-level honor for outstanding service to youth, the Silver Beaver.
